About The Artwork
Inspiration from the typical Dutch weather and always changing skies. If you see this you will feel happy and interested in life. I used acrylics because the technique requires a lot of layers to get vibration in the colors and lines. Its about the conditions in which all things but also threes are in when in movement. One of the artist that inspired me is Chaim Soutine. In his writing you can see how he tries to relive movements we come aware of in nature. Hanging hardware is included.

My vision; Everyday I am still puzzled and amazed when I see different shapes and colors mixing to yet another new creation. Every-time again and again perspectives open and more questions appear. I struggle everyday, every-time, and each time my ideas come out differently, surprisingly. The combination of lines, colors, space, materials and so much more give a different interaction and different result again and again. Creating can be frustrating, but at the very end the results are satisfying. My life in a few words; I received my master of arts in 1989. From 1984 until 1988 I traveled around the world. In 1984-1986 I also got several stipendi. I lived for a period of time in N.Y. and Naples,Italy. In 1977 I won the art price of Gouda. Meanwhile I also made a number of video presentations for several big festivals. I live and work in Leiden, The Netherlands, together with my wife and 2 children. see on the other pages my list of exhibitions.
