MILFONT Les Demoiselles du Robotisme_2020 Oil on canvas 80x100 cm The image features two women and a robot, who talk on a bed in an atmosphere of friendship and intimacy. The robot gesticulates while talking, while the listeners seem interested, which leads to a casual conversation. A sharing of personal experiences. Artificial Intelligence here is seen not as a servant of human beings, but as a friend. That cohabits the planet. If initially these beings will be created and encoded by human beings, what kind of codes will we provide them until they become self sufficient? The truth is that artificial intelligence can perform self-improvement. So, could they feel, or even transcend, certain human feelings and teach us to relate better with ourselves? The objective is also to question all these factors during its creation process. This can be crucial in the long term. Isaac Asimov suggested the 3 laws of robotics, but would it be possible for them to become beings in addition to supporting roles? With their own wishes and desires? Who interact with us as social beings, with rights and duties? Humanized? The artificial intelligence theme, despite being present in several media for many years, often presents robots as “separate” beings, submissive or implacable. They are hardly presented to us as an equal ”, a being that despite being“ created ”by man, has his own self, mistakes, successes and challenges. The black and white contrast present in the robotic character, refers to the current opposition that exists between machine and emotions. The character / robot chosen has a human “body” as a utility function, with aerodynamics focused on interaction. Its joints are formed by spheres that connect the members through a magnet allowing great mobility, in addition to what a human body could do, and facilitating the exchange of parts when necessary. But it has no face. Its head is a sphere of smoked glass that covers the circuits and sensors. Since it is a new species, it is not necessary that it has human features to be friendly. Your emotions and feelings are expressed through gestures, body expressions and electromagnetic waves. The truth is that artificial intelligence can perform self-improvement. So, could they feel, or even transcend, certain human feelings and teach us to relate better with ourselves? The objective of this work is also to question all these factors during the evolution of this intelligence. This can be crucial in the long term.

21th Century Conceptual Artist | Neo Futurism | Alessandra de Norões Milfont lives and works in Curitiba. She has exhibited her work in various public and private institutions and events since 2012 in locations such as Curitiba, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Pontal de Maceió and Helmshore. The artist began her career with Fashion Illustrations: digital artworks, drawings, watercolors and ink among other techniques; which led her to design solo exhibitions, participate in group exhibitions and win awards. In addition to the illustration of a physical book about Fashion and the selection of her works for 4 consecutive years to integrate the e-book of the Fashion Revolution Forum, a non-profit movement that seeks a less aggressive and more transparent Fashion Industry that takes place simultaneously in different capitals of the world. Since 2017, the artist has been immersed in the current Technological Revolution, focused on the development of Artificial Intelligence. Her research involves futuristic essays on the Social, Cultural, Philosophical, Political and Economic implications that arise from this transformation. Currently her artistic production is focused on his growing curiosity for new technologies, the development of A.I. and its consequences. Milfont is looking ahead by relentlessly questioning what's next as these technologies gain awareness. In 2021 she wrote the Manifesto Robotisme, published in the Brazilian Book Chamber, inspired by Marinetti's Futurist Manifesto. A self-taught painter, she chose a language that contrasts the futuristic theme with the ancient technique of oil painting with natural solvents. The artist expresses herself with such intensity as most of her works. They are made with the centuries-old technique of alla prima (“wet-on_wet”). With striking, intense and expressive lines and images that have a dreamlike appearance, with slightly blurred contours, which gives us the sensation of observing a dream. Strong contrast and meticulously chosen exuberant colors permeate much of his works. Its provocative images evoke questions about the exponential development of Artificial Intelligence and its relationship with humans.
