About The Artwork
The "Light" painting was created as a casual recollection of the excitement of a city child walking with his beloved grandmother and grandfather on a dark trail through a mountainous area. It is the return from an evening visit to relatives whose house is not far from ours, but that intense darkness frightens my eyes accustomed to the city lights. The darkness is serious as never before, dense and smells like the forest, but the flashlight, like a torch of salvation, illuminates a multitude of flies that suddenly please me because the light reflects off them and orients me in space and my imagination. That darkness helps me understand how beautiful light is.
