About The Artwork
I painted this on location as the sun was going down on the Uji River, south of Kyoto. This is my favorite place to paint and I am always moved by the depth of the experience. Since it is an on location painting with lots of energy, you can still see some of the color splashes in the sky area. I am inspired by Nolde, Van Gogh, Boudin and other on- location artists.
