Little Angels … and other spirits Print

I have a few pictures of these kids performing traditional dance. So I put together this idea. Just the kids with those colourful outfits and half the painting should just be a play of colours complementing the main subject. The idea of gold colour only came to me late in the painting process as I don’t often work with metallic paint. But it works well here on the parchment type paper. The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. The paper is a thick parchment paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. Here for the print I have cropped away the uneven ‘deckled’edges. The close up picture is of higher resolution to be able to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress.
