About the Painting: This painting is part of a symbolic cycle depicting feelings of deep intimacy and separation of a couple by the sea. About The Painter: Nico Ramon Kastner (*2000) is a young Swiss artist who, through his figurative painting, brings together “the world of yesterday” and his current present. The color palette of the paintings is usually very reserved and the compositions of the pictures are planned as precisely as possible. The passion for music and art history are explored alongside themes such as memory, childhood and theatrical storytelling. An overview of all works can be found at

Switzerland
Nico Ramon Kastner (born 20th December 2000) is a self-taught swiss artist, who discovered his passion for oil painting in his teens and is currently studying fine arts in Zurich. The focus of his paintings lay on showing intimate moments of people in a moment of introspection and self-reflection. Lots of these aspects can also be found in the self-portraits which show an honest confrontation with himself, where he explores feelings of solitude and alienation. The rather dark palette of his oil paintings harmonizes with the mood and themes the paintings portray and often take reference to his idols of art history. The other spectrum of his work varies from figurative studies, portraits and references to his passion for music and film.
