ABOUT THE ARTWORK

It is a reference to my personal memories about the coast at Brighton together with my family when my 2-year-old daughter experienced the sea for the first time. This painting resembles a lot of faces: love of life, love to the family, love and care for the planet. Love of life and family is shown in two people standing at the coast, how a father is teaching his daughter about the sea and cares for her, not letting her go to fall in the water. The boat is also representing the love of life, as even though the weather is cold and rainy, they still got out to enjoy their lives in the sea. It is also represented in the flying of the seagulls: they enjoy themselves like any other animal and love their life. And the sea that cares for all living creatures and shows us how we're just a tiny little part of the collective being. Love for the planet is shown in the wind farms located in the sea; they show how nowadays people are more and more using renewable sources of energy that do not create almost any pollution and help mitigate climate change.

Bio: Hailing from Ukraine, my journey intertwines art, law, and management. Trained at Borshchiv Art School, I pursued a Master's in Law and an MBA in Kyiv, eventually ascending to leadership roles in Ukrainian organizations. Despite my professional path, art has always been my sanctuary, especially amid the chaos of Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Art for me is not just expression; it's meditation—a practice I've embraced for 15 years. My work on any piece of art begins with this meditative state, a journey into thoughtless awareness that permeates my work. My recent series, "Liberation," epitomizes this fusion of thoughtless awareness and creativity. Crafted from homemade pigments and unconventional materials like sindoor and kumkum, each piece in "Liberation" celebrates womanhood's resilience and empowerment. "Liberation" isn't just about individual beauty; it's a collective anthem of strength and solidarity. Through each stroke, I seek to evoke emotions and qualities unique to every woman, advocating for their empowerment in society. My art delves deep into the essence of humanity, particularly womanhood. It's a reflection on what brings inner tranquility and what fuels our struggles, offering a beacon of hope in turbulent times. My goal is simple: to inspire viewers to confront radicalism, embrace empowerment, and emerge with a renewed sense of vigor and purpose, to help the viewer in his journey to find true self! In essence, my artistic journey is a testament to the transformative power of creativity—a journey that transcends borders, celebrates diversity, and helps to find a real essence, a Spirit within.
