About The Artwork

I just love art and paint in acrylic and oils, as well as drawing in graphite and pastel, One day on my way home from Bundaberg, I saw in the distance a big wedge-tailed eagle ripping meat from a dead Kangaroo. As I got closer I could see he was very big in fact he was enormous, he did not seem to be one bit worried about me so I was able to stop on the side of the road and do some sketches of him, I was lucky to have my Derwent pencils and sketch pad in the car but no camera not happy, but I was able to get time to do a good sketch before he decided to leave, that was quite a sight to see him run down the road to get airborne he was magnificent, I am going to do a painting of him in flight soon. As you would have guessed wildlife is my inspiration to paint and this painting is for sale ready to hang fully framed.

Born in Cornwall in 1900, I showed an interest in art from an early age, following my grandfather around Europe painting and sketching until I earned a scholarship to the Redruth School of Arts. Over those 4 years, I won many awards, widening my range of media, depth of experience and understanding of art. During the late 60s and early 70s, I delivered boats throughout the Mediterranean which enabled me to attend many workshops primarily in the artistically inspired cities of France and Italy. In the late 70s, I dragged my Cornwall-loving family to Australia to « see what we could see» and immediately fell in love with the animals and beautiful landscapes. While I have always been enamoured of landscapes and nature, the Australian wildlife and environment gave me new enthusiasm to paint in my style of realism. Since then, my family and I have explored Australia extensively, I have been fortunate to win multiple awards on a local as well as State level. These achievements have both humbled and inspired me. I am dedicated to and passionate about my art. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Brian-L-Art/195651623785308
