"Marburg" is a captivating watercolor painting that provides a bird's eye perspective of the picturesque old German city. From this elevated viewpoint, viewers are treated to a panoramic view of Marburg's enchanting rooftops and iconic Fachwerk (half-timbered) buildings, evoking a sense of history and architectural beauty. The focal point of the painting is the myriad of rooftops that spread across the canvas, forming a patchwork of colors and shapes. Each roof carries its own story, weathered by time and bearing the marks of generations past. Interspersed among the rooftops are the iconic Fachwerk buildings, which lend a timeless charm to the cityscape. The delicate lines and details of the half-timbered structures are meticulously portrayed, revealing the craftsmanship and intricacy of their construction. These buildings stand as a testament to Marburg's rich history and cultural heritage.

Self-knowledge is what my art gives me. I've learned to enjoy the process, that's what I like most about watercolor. I work mainly in the wet technique, because that's how watercolor shows its maximum potential. The result is always unpredictable, because the watercolor does half of the work and I like that bit of uncertainty that I can't change. I complete the painting and the painting completes me. The granularity of the pigments, the undertones, the airiness - that's why I love watercolor. I really like to experiment and paint not only with traditional watercolor tools such as brushes, but also with bags, napkins, sponges, etc. I like to paint on large formats as I feel more free to do so. The main idea of my art is to give people an opportunity to understand themselves and their attitude by looking at familiar things, to discover simple things anew. I draw on free subject matter, it's more important for me to feel what I want to depict, whether it's an apple or a street in Italy. I'm interested in exploring color combinations and their effect on people in my work. I try to capture the essence of what is being portrayed without being too detailed, leaving the viewer free to imagine. I'm inspired by the space around me, the way nature and man live together.
