ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is mainly about the complexity and dangers of our modern world economy. In it, we are so interconnected with so many other countries that a cascading downturn effect can lead to not just one area of the world plummeting in times of economic crisis, but a substantial portion of the whole world. The white erratic condensation trails behind the ships mimic profit margins and stock value graphs. Each ship has the initials of a different country on the side. This painting also addresses the potential risks that can arise in our modern civilization which is increasingly dependent on technology and more separated from nature.
