At the beginning, I had the idea to make homages to the works by François Boucher. However, upon delving deeper into the ancient Greek myths during my university studies, I became more imbued with their deep meanings and astonishing symbolism. The god Dionysus - or Bacchus - is the most sympathetic to me, and I had never before thought that I follow Dionysianism. Dionysus was born the second time from his father's thigh - my mother miraculously had been keeping me inside herself for eight months. Dionysus was raised by the sister of his mother, who gave him birth the first time prematurely - my mother could not hold me in her arms until I was several years old. Dionysus, by the will of fate, was raised by nymphs - and I was raised by my mother’s friends and relatives, since she herself fell into a coma just before my birth. This watercolour, therefore, in a sense, embodied the strange and murky stories from my past, and it all simply began with that I fell in love with Rococo painting...

In our time, overflowing with information, it becomes more and more difficult to weed out the main from the secondary. Information can be found in one click, so there is no need to remember it. So I found all my childhood memories erased up to the age of seventeen. The attention to a living person, to their right to reveal their potential and live their own, and not someone else’s life, sharpened although. Only now, seven years after I started painting, I seem to start to gradually realize what I have been doing. The world, on the one hand, is moving towards unification; on the other hand, nothing can be generalized, because nothing can be missed: not a single nuance, nor a single sun glint, nor a single metamorphosis, nor a single, even the tiniest, detail. My admiration for colour is based on the deep conviction that a bright, pure, unclouded colour inevitably affects emotions, and therefore thoughts. In my works, in the peculiarities of writing with small contrasting strokes, in their rhythm, vortex dynamics, I try to convey the feeling of the immensity, complexity and involuntariness of the world, which allows me, I believe, to convey some thoughts about its incomprehensibility. Oil or watercolour, these sheets, at first glance, broken into coloured crystals, are paradoxical: on the one hand, an unbridled bacchanalia of colours, on the other, a rationally adjusted form. Like a crystal chandelier, sprinkled with coloured splashes, but with a clear design and organized structure inside. It seems that our beautiful world consists of paradoxes.
