About The Artwork

I am an instructor at the Woodstock School of Art. This painting was done as a class demonstration. I have observed and painted pictures of the night sky for decades. I feel that observing the night sky is a peaceful and revealing thing. Lord Dunsany said "A man is a very small thing and the night is very large and full of wonders." My approach to painting is indirect, that is there are many layers and no visible brushstrokes. It is an oil on cradled wood panel. The sides measure about 3/4" and are painted black. It is wired and ready to hang. It does not require a frame but I will supply one if desired. Adding a frame will increase the turnaround.
