About The Artwork
For me, homeland mountains have become trademarks of the landscape. Their forms of expression stand before the astonished observer as a symbol of the unique mountain world. The picture is also a symbol. Painted as an ideogram, a landmark, cloud dreams in the sky, it came from an inspiration: mountains from my Bavarian homeland, Allgäu. see also: www.guenter-rauch-kunst.de The mountain is a memory in my spiritual eye, an inspiration from the "Aggenstein" in my bavarian homeland allgäu. it is the second picture of the planned series mountain ideographs. A combination on a canvas stretched on a stretcher, painted with sand from a nearby river and acrylic. the picture is signed on the front with my logo, on the back with my name and other data.

Guenter Rauch is a German artist. his works move between sculpture, drawings, painting and outdoor art projects and take a critical look at the relationships between humans and nature. I was born in the year one after the great war (1946) and have largely lived and worked in and near Kempten im Allgäu, Bavaria. I came to professional art late. 1997 the first exhibition of paintings and objects. Numerous exhibitions with paintings and drawings followed. From 2009 on, turning to outdoor / landart projects with art trails and (peace) installations. Start of the project "PORTA ALPINAE Open the door to another world". A wooden gate symbolizes the transition to another world. 30 installations on German, Austrian, Swiss and Italian mountains generate great media interest. Several documentaries in large TV formats and international press reports. Always accompanying the painting, drawings and objects.
