About The Artwork
This artwork has been inspired me by wild plants in the Alps in Italy. Mountain flowers have unusually beautiful colors, very bright and saturated. This is because the summer season in the mountains is rather short and the plants must attract insects to be pollinated in a short time. I really like this wild-growing flower. It’s very small, but when you look closely at it, it has a rich palette of pink, from fuxia and bordeaux to light peach. I decided to enlarge the dimensions of the real flower to cover the whole sheet. Original watercolour painting on 100% cotton paper 140 lb.

I was born in a small old town in northwestern Russia. After graduation I moved to Moscow, where worked in advertising as a graphic designer. Increasingly in love with art and painting, I started studying art history at the Moscow University. After several years of life between Moscow and Italy I finally moved at Florence with my family. Now I live and work in Tuscany, at small town near Florence. What I see around inspires me to paint. Tuscan and not only landscapes, architecture, people, psychology, the human body. I like to change the technique and the materials of painting. I usually have some work started and every day I work with what I’m more attracted to. Sometimes the process is rather chaotic.
