This artwork is a tribute to a Pre-Columbian Colombian culture, the Muiscas, and their mite about the moon's creation. According to this, a Muisca tribe leader (cacique) of the Sogamoso region ascended to the sky and transformed himself into the moon to light up the night to complement the sun in charge of lighting up the day time. This artwork is a way to connect with my roots and to depict the cacique's image, as I imagine it, already converted into the moon.
