Nature Makes a Man of Me Print

Nature Makes a Man of Me is part of a series of paintings and drawings of figures in and around the sea. My imagery often involves interstitial and liminal spaces used as a source of temporary anonymity for cartoonish figures to play with and try on alternatives to traditional gender norms. My work is inspired greatly by Rococo and Romantic painting, though I have a perverse streak that pushes my aesthetics into a juxtaposition of lushness and good natured sleaze. I use professional quality watercolors and gouache on 300lb watercolor paper.
