About The Artwork

Nenson Mandela taught us that fear can make us courageous only when we decide to face it. The personalities who constitute the “FEARLESS” Art series, share their commitment and decision to fight for their ideas. Even though each one of them were conscious of the inevitable consequences. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, 18 July 1918 – 5 December 2013, was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was South Africa's first black chief executive, and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. His government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid through tackling institutionalised racism, poverty and inequality, and fostering racial reconciliation. Politically an African nationalist and democratic socialist, he served as President of the African National Congress (ANC) party from 1991 to 1997. Internationally, Mandela was Secretary General of the Non-Aligned Movement from 1998 to 1999. Nelson Mandela quotes: "I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." "To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity." "If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner."
