About The Artwork

In this picture, she imagined a burning water and started off from the term “ship burning”. It defines a turning point in the artist's private life, underlining to leave the past behind and not to return. This painting is dedicated to the ferries and the support of the artist Fatih Sungurtekin to her to burn both the ship and the harbor and to have a wonderful romantic Istanbul night. With this painting Gümüş Sungurtekin won the first prize of the Turkish Navy Forces 8th Traditional Painting Competition On The Theme of '' Sea '' and the special “ Navy Painter ” title in 2004. Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin First Turkish Woman Navy Artist Navy Artist Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin 2004 Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin was awarded 1st prize in the '' 8th Traditional '' Painting Contest on ' Sea ' organized by Turkish Naval Forces Command. She won ''Naval Painter Prize''. She get the '' Navy Artist Title'' from Turkish Naval Forces Commander Özden Örnek. 2006-2004 Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin joined the Turkish Naval Forces Command's Military Naval Operations, 2005 '' Old Salt'' and made art works at the invitation of Turkish Navy Commander Yener Karahanoğlu in 2005 and Turkish Navy commander Metin Ataç in 2007. She has joined participated in ''2005 Old Salt Naval Operation'' as a naval artist and honorary major. She has watched and taken photos of the naval operation during twelve days on the Salih Reis frigates. When she come back her studio in Galata, she has added manpower concept in her impression and she has painted her art works. She created and produced the Rope Series about the manpower concept. 'Rope-drawn Mariners' on frigate inspired her. Gümüş Sungurtekin, who received the title of Naval Painter and Honorary Major. Her navy paintings were in Göknil Gümüş Private Exhibition exhibited at Harbiye Military Museum in İstanbul. Navy Artist Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin' s Naval Artist Art Works are exhibited perpetually in the halls, museums and archives of Turkish Naval Forces Command. Goknil Gumus Sungurtekin is the first Turkish Woman Navy Artist. Donanma Sanatçısı Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin 2004 Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin, Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı tarafından düzenlenen ''8. Geleneksel'' Deniz '' Resim Yarışması'nda 1.'lik ödülüne layık görüldü. Deniz Ressamı Ödülü'nü kazandı. Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanı Özden Örnek'ten ''Donanma Sanatçısı'' unvanını aldı. 2006-2004 Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin, 2005 yılında Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı Askeri Deniz Harekatı'na katılarak, 2005 yılında Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanı Yener Karahanoğlu ve 2007 yılında Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanı Metin Ataç'ın davetlisi olarak sanat çalışmaları yaptı. ''2005 Eski Tuz Deniz Harekatı''na bahriye sanatçısı ve fahri binbaşı olarak katıldı. Salih Reis fırkateynlerinde on iki gün boyunca deniz harekatını izlemiş ve fotoğraflarını çekmiştir. Galata'daki atölyesine geri döndüğünde izlenimine insan gücü kavramını katmış ve sanat eserlerini boyamıştır. İnsan gücü konseptiyle ilgili Rope Serisini yarattı ve üretti. Fırkateyn üzerindeki 'İpli Denizciler' ona ilham verdi. Deniz Ressamı ve Fahri Binbaşı unvanını alan Gümüş Sungurtekin. Donanma resimleri İstanbul Harbiye Askeri Müzesi'nde sergilenen Göknil Gümüş Özel Sergisinde yer aldı. Deniz Ressamı Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin'in Deniz Ressamı Sanat Eserleri, Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı salon, müze ve arşivlerinde sürekli olarak sergilenmektedir. Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin, ilk Türk Kadın Donanma Ressamı'dır.
