About The Artwork

This painting is part of a series of large works documenting construction sites and new housing developments in rural Cambridgeshire. I visited sites on days when no work was happening so that I could take photos and sketches without the presence of people. I love the eerie silence and the beauty of these spaces with their temporary structures and colourful safety equipment. This piece documents a site on the edge of Ely in Cambridgeshire. The site was not fenced very well, and I spotted a couple of dog walkers were having a peak around at the same time as me. The canvas is framed in a simple white float frame which is included in the price. It can be removed from the stretcher bar and rolled to reduce shipping costs - please get in touch for details.
