About The Artwork

Inspired by my love of fine dining and Japanese cuisine, specifically Nobu, I was compelled to create this piece. I achieved my vision by combining simplicity and minimalism with the use of a complimentary colour palette. The technique used is one which has been developed over several years, using mixed media and acrylic mediums to achieve my desired subtle yet textured effect.

Painter, Illustrator, Sculptor and Mixed Media Artist Memories on Canvas. Italian - UK Based Instagram, Twitter & Facebook @ASB_Paints Artists Bio: Antonella S Blinko (b. 1989, Bedford, United Kingdom) is an Italian painter, illustrator, sculptor, and mixed media artist. As a child, she grew up in a small rural town in southern Italy, and after becoming enamoured with the art world, she focused her studies on Art History. During her studies, she devoted her time to studying and recreating works by her biggest inspirations; the Renaissance era masters; Michelangelo Buonarroti, Da Vinci & Caravaggio, as well as Impressionists masters such as J.M.W. Turner, Monet & Van Gogh, and Pre-Raphaelites. She works by emphasising the aesthetics of the paint itself, using her specific technique and mixed media to achieve subtle textures, combined with a minimalistic colour palette, creating an abstract impressionist style that is truly unique to her. Blinko's works focus on Still Life, Memory, and Self Exploration. These are pivotal subject matters to her. Using her art to express emotions and record precious memories, she merges her specific techniques, such as colour gradation and texture, to create dynamic and immersive pieces with a subtle and somewhat minimalist approach. By combining bold and bright colours with natural and comforting hues, she strives to create an atmosphere of feeling and memory in her works. Her works contain formal associations that open a unique poetic vein and the lack of clear references are key elements in the work. By contesting the division between the realm of memory and the realm of experience, she develops forms that do not follow logical criteria but are based only on subjective associations and formal parallels, which incite the viewer to make their own personal associations. Carefully selecting her pallet to achieve an equilibrium of complementary tones, which creates an ultimately soothing and fulfilling artwork experience. Her artwork seeks to awaken memories, both pleasant and turbulent, as a way to connect with viewers on a deeper level. Blinko's works are a testament to her passion for creating art that evokes emotion, allowing viewers to escape into a world of feeling and connection.
