Nude in autumn colours in acrylic on canvas Inspired by the seventies flower power style, I embarked on a small series of nudes using flat areas of colour while retaining a 3 dimensional feeling of the subject. I wanted to express the sensuality in the curvature of the feminine form in the simplest way. So after a few sketches, I set about the idea of using flat areas of solid complimentary colours to build the contours of a woman's body. I love this style of painting and it give a very modern contemporary feel to this image yet it has the vintage feel of a nineteen seventies pop art poster
