About The Artwork

For this painting the inspiration came from the model drawing sessions that I attend at the Círculo de Bellas Artes. I found it interesting that often, before entering the session, seeing the people waiting to enter it is difficult to guess who is going to be the model and who are the rest, that is, the artists. I found interesting the idea that a person can be the observer or the observed, or both at different times, and I wanted to bring that duality to this work. The painting is made with acrylics that are highly resistant to the passage of time, and I have not used varnishes that can yellow over time. I have painted the lateral edges, so that it can also satisfy those who prefer to expose the paintings without framing.

I have always had a vocation for graphic arts. In my beginnings it was painting and drawing, then photography and images made by computer (3D image, fractals, image editing), and recently I have returned to the passion of my beginnings, painting and drawing. Along this path I have learned many things from the different disciplines, such as composition, color, light and shadow, texture or geometry, which I now use to create my works. Currently I paint and draw at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, which brings together a wonderful group of experienced colleagues and young students, sharing their knowledge and ideas. I am interested in the themes that represent the times in which we live, usually optimistic, and I create my works so that they can be enjoyed by both connoisseurs of the art world and newcomers to this world.
