Part of an ongoing series entitled Cycles of Life, "only the doorway remains" is a symbolic comment on the passage of time and the changes in society as we move forward into the 21st century. It contains the ruins of the past and shows the blue skies of future possibilities. My career in construction, especially is restoring old buildings, has had a strong impact on my using ruins to represent life.
