ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Ortaköy is located on the European side of the Istanbul Bosphorus. With its historical and cultural structure, Ortaköy is one of the famous places visited by both Istanbulites and tourists. One of most important factor that made the district and especially the square the center of attention of Istanbul is that the three monumental buildings representing three religions (Ortaköy Mosque, Ayios Fokas Church, Etz Ahayim Synagogue) are close to each other. The square and its surroundings are a lively meeting center day and night with coffee shops, night clubs, bars, restaurants, art workshops, antique and souvenir shops, and a handicraft and art market that opens on weekends. I wanted to paint Ortaköy, which is such a popular and beautiful place, and present it to the esteemed art lovers. It is painted with impressionist realistic style on %100 cotton, acid free, 300gr, hot presssed Arches watercolor paper.
