Pink Tub Chair in Plant Filled Interior Hideaway Print

I recently started a series in which I paint portraits of chairs, creating little places where it might be pleasant to curl up with a cup of tea and a book. This green and pink oasis is one of a series of six little tributes to quiet, inviting corners. In this piece a pink velvet tub chair is positioned between a pot plant in a metallic gold pot and a table of odds and ends that include a cactus, a trophy and a large ceramic bird. Further brightly colored birds, interspersed with wee bells hang on strings between dangling potted plants above the chair. A window offers a view of a lush garden, mirrored in the white rose bedecked, green wallpaper inside the room. A rug with a pink floral and geometric design and a green, leaf print cushion tie the whole scene together. The work is painted on cradled board and can be hung as is or framed by the purchaser.
