About The Artwork
The painting was exhibited during the personal exhibition "Life without Melancholy", Ukraine, 2023. The stunning colors of summer, the fleeting summer heat when a light breeze blows the wild grasses in the meadow. I used to go to art plenaries in the suburbs. The temporary silence during the war. A temporary illusion that everything was over. I thought: how to show the transience of time? How to show the best, how to see the best version of what's happening? How exactly to show the future now? There are still rockets exploding very close by, but the flowers don't care. They're beautiful. All my paintings are a struggle with myself for the right to be human. At the beginning of the war, we hardly slept, we were exhausted. The psyche felt only one thing: to survive. So people had only the basic instincts of animals: to get food, water, get some sleep and escape. For a long period I could not switch psychologically. Thinking a lot I tried to analyze my feelings at this particular moment. So I came to the conclusion that it is necessary to return to painting. Let it be a different reality and I started to write paintings - they were "letters to the future". This is a strong desire for a peaceful life, freedom and independence.

Oleksandra Malyshko is a talented Ukrainian artist known for her original oil paintings on canvas. Was born in the city of Dnipro, Ukraine In 1977. She’s an architect by profession and a member of the International Association of Art (IAA) Europe and a member of the National union artists of Ukraine. She is an active member of the regional art community. Her work has been exhibited nationally and is in private and public collections. She specializes in a style called linear impressionism, which combines elements of both linear and impressionistic techniques. This style emphasizes bold, expressive brushwork and uses strong lines to create a sense of movement and energy within the artwork.
