About The Artwork
This portrait of a highland bull was inspired by a photograph taken by the artist of a peaceful group of these majestic animals just enjoying a lovely sunny day in the field. As she was enjoying their company, one of them quietly approached her and staired at her for a moment as if to say " isn't this just a beautiful day!". At that moment, the artist knew she had to put that wonderful encounter on canvas as a tribute to these wonderful living beings. This artwork is created first with an abstract background composed of titanium white acrylic paint mixed with the beautiful effect of puter where then, once dry, the animal will take shape as a silhouette in charcoal. The artist will then erase the details away, allowing the background to serve as the white detailed parts of the strong yet gentle looking bull. A glossy sealing varnish is added for extra protection. The artwork is safe for manipulating and dusting.
