About The Artwork

A cold, stoic mountain done in a portrait style. Made by dragging white paint (snow) over a textured mountain surface in order to get the same effect of snow drifting into crevasses on an actual cliff face. Original has been sold but prints are available.

Daniel Holland (b.!984),artist, currently working and living in Nashville,TN Holland establishes active surfaces upon which thresholds of color and materials lunge past each other, and labor toward a fixed relationship. Holland’s are works that seek a visualization of the process, and act of art making itself: its catalysts, its multi-sensory staging, the materials of its construction, even its manner of provocation. Holland’s productions are less visual pieces than they are sites at which a determining of their own aim, and definition is taking place.
