As an artist grew up in Istanbul, looking through one of the seven hills of Istanbul always took me to ancient times. Right now with our concept of city which has been changed, Istanbul still one of the best cities in the world and even one glance is enough to take us far far away. Mine Dikel was born in 1964. She is a self-taught artist from Turkey. She attended some Turkish painters' academic painting lessons for long years. In early years of her carreer, her works took place in municipalities and some galleries and she was awarded by Çanakkale Municipality. Her works are part of some municipality and hotels' collections. Mothering an artist and a designer kids, she took time out from the painting career and preferred produce for herself for a decade. In 2015, she made a nice return to art world, taking part in some collective shows in the heart of the city, In her art practice, while she adopts palette of impressionists, she uses an expressionist and cubist manner. She usually focuses on women, culture and city scapes usually from the diverse countries she had ever visited. As a Constantinopolis lover, she enjoys giving a taste of Istanbul, its seagulls and architecture. Also giving an emphasis to women's character and power, by portraying herself also amongst them.
