ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Powerful seas tempted me to paint this scene which was in the Canary Islands between the north of Lanzarote and Orzola. Painted on fine linen canvas in oils using brush and palette knife in abstract style using one of my favourite colours ‘ light Cobalt’ for the skies. Letting some of the oils dry and scraping before re-applying paints gives a lovely texture with small palette knife strokes added the effect I needed for the waters.
