ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Idja Masks Collection is a series of 6 masks, all of the same size 40x60 cm, based on African masks. At first they were considered more symbolic aspects, but throughout the process the masks formed for a more abstract format, portrait of the artist's own abstraction and of a search for freedom of forms and patterns and contact with the feminine ancestry. The Ancestral Prophecy © is the first work of the collection with a more figurative aspect.
