The sequence "Quadratur des Kreises" is inspired by traditionell Japanese mathematics from the Edo period called Sangaku. I like the particular esthetic, it is very differnt from the western geometry we know for example from the gothic tracery which is always centered and balanced whereas the Japanese geometry often has no centerpoint at all, shifting the balance towards one side or the other.
