This work is inspired by Japanese geometrics called "sangaku". For this series called "Squaring the circle", I took one element, four half circles in a square, and combined it. Sangaku or San Gaku is Japanese geometrical problems or theorems, in Euclidean geometry on wooden tablets which were placed as offerings at Shinto shrines or Buddhist temples during the Edo period by members of all social classes.
