This emblematic painting depicts a still life painted with exhausting search for detail. It is part of a series of paintings dedicated to still lifes inserted in surrealist, dreamlike contexts and which treat forms with marked realism. The scene takes place outside and I used the same glass that I inserted in other similar paintings. But the whole picture is ambiguous. In the reflection we see a man taking a photo with two dummies next to him. But if you think about it, the man is inside a room. Still life, on the other hand, is found in a different environment, outdoors, on a pedestal. And in the foreground there is the famous phrase said by Pontius Pilate in the Gospel of John "quid est veritas?" What is truth ... in this painting? What is true and what is not? Where is the truth in things? In the reality we observe or in the mind of the observer who often interprets things as he likes?
