Sarah Webb www.sarahwebbstudios.com/sarah@sarahwebbstudios mob:07982788076 BIOGRAPHY British born painter, Sarah Webb has lived and worked as an Artist for the past 29 years and has twice been a finalist in The BP Portrait Award at London's National Portrait Gallery. Born in Cleethorpes in 1964,she began her studies at Grimsby School of Art,and went on to gain a first class honors degree in Fine Art at Loughborough University.Sarah's first job after graduating was in a London factory, which produced props for film and television;where she was allowed the use of the shop floor to produce her own work after hours. A seminal moment in Sarah's career was being discovered by Eric Hall [1928-2008] in London in 1989 ,who was to become her patron and very dear friend for the next 19 years. After a brief meeting with Eric at her favourite haunt ,The Frenchouse in London's Soho,Sarah found herself bound for southern Spain courtesy of a 6 month contract to live and paint in Andalucia. After four successful years Sarah then moved to Madrid, where she would spend a further three and a half years living and working with many other European artists. The influence of Sarah's formative years on the East Coast of England ,and the time she spent in Spain, is evident in both her drawings and oil paintings. Her work is collected in the UK,America,Spain,France,Italy and more recently in China. Sarah currently resides in the UK with her daughter, Stella Leonie Webb. EXHIBITIONS Sarah's subtle palette and expressive style have won her a following amongst collectors and fellow artists.
