About The Artwork

I spotted a beautiful Red Kobucha squash at my neighborhood grocer, and felt the sage green veins on its brilliant orange skin would look fantastic paired with my collection of Japanese glass floats. I didn't want to do a traditional still life, so I researched Hudson Valley School landscape paintings for a palette that would pleasing with my objects, and chose a Thomas Cole painting, View Across Frenchman's Bay From Mt. Desert Island, After a Squall (1845).
