The painting is one of the series "My War is Over", which includes ten paintings on military themes. This is a collective image. I poured out on the canvas my indignation, disgust for the war, pity for the victims and at the same time the determination to do everything in my modest strength to prevent such situations from arising. Why did I choose the female image? I had two reasons for this. The first is that a woman is more emotional, she expresses her feelings faster and more vividly. The second reason: the thought of war, murder, all those things that take life is unbearable for a woman. After all, a woman gives life. When a woman thinks about negative phenomena, then first of all she thinks about her children and the situation becomes completely unacceptable for her. This woman, in whose eyes both fear and determination is my interpretation and my attitude to war as a phenomenon and to all conflicts in general.

I paint because for me it's a kind of meditation in which I lose track of time, designing and creating a whole new world that no one has ever seen before. Portrait is the most congenial form of art to me. It is incredibly interesting to observe people and visualize their actions and behavior, transforming them into images that can be depicted on canvas. Portraits of women are my special love. Women are ambiguous, mysterious, magic lurks in them. It's a bottomless world, like the rabbit hole Alice fell into. My paintings are not about female beauty, they are about her inner world, which is inhabited not only by angels but also by demons Sometimes I paint landscapes and flowers It turns out easily. Probably, painting them, I just relax :-).
