When painting on site, you have no control of the light or wind and how both affect water and all that you see. In this painting, the water kept moving each time the wind came up and my early morning start became a late morning painting. I painted layer over layer, as time passed and colors changed. These reflection paintings were inspired by Monet's late paintings of water lilies, and a show in 2019 at the de Young Museum in San Francisco titled “Monet: The Late Years”. I especially like the way Monet's paintings become more and more abstract as he leaves the shoreline and completely immerses himself, and the viewer, into the reflection. That is what I have tried to do as well. Located at Rollins Lake, in the Sierra Nevada mountains, signed and dated 6/2020 on the back. All archival materials, and ready to hang.

Evers was honored with the “Artist’s Choice Award” at the” Snow Goose Festival” show at Avenue 9, Chico, California and an “Honorable Mention Award” from juror Gary Pruner for her piece in the “Celebration of Spirit” show at New Artworks Gallery, Fair Oaks, California. She has been recognized by Victoria Dalkey for her piece “Clouds” in the Sacramento Bee. Evers is currently working in the outdoors, as her studio, bringing the power and majesty of the Sierra Nevada to canvas and paint. She expresses the peace, power, life and joy of nature to her paintings - something she feels is not always possible in the confines of a studio. Working on themes of climate change and and her ever evolving relationship with the trees, wildlife and mountains. Expressing glimpses of transcendence and beauty in her paintings. "Capturing the profound expression of an artist’s inner greatness, Spirit Resonance is a timeless concept in a shifting world. Tracing back to the 6th century scholar Xie He, this principle asserts that something ineffable is transmitted from artist to artwork in the act of creation." - "Three Thousand Years of Chinese Painting" Evers lives and works in the Sierra Nevada mountains of northern California, USA.
