This is a storytelling painting, in this specific moment the Man is dragging the Horse to get horseshoes done. The horse knows the agony is coming, he struggles fiercely… It is one of my favorites because it engaged dynamic movement. The weight of the horse is out of balance, intent to suggest the powerful resistance. the blue shadow and yellow tint ground make a clear distinction.
