After a long lay off to accommodate post graduate study and raise young kids, I got back among brushes and paint to do what I do. Paint. Originally from southern town of Ambalangoda, Srilanka and strangely ended up qualifying in Chinese traditional paintings and Calligraphy from Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. Lived in Beijing for five years and can hold a conversation in Mandarin. My post graduate study on Conservation of Fine Art at University of Northumbria was just a waste of time and money and I never got to work in the field. My work is mostly done with stone colours on silk, ink on rice paper and acrylic on canvas mainly replicating Agony and Ecstasy in life of women. With my Eastern/oriental upbringing and western background, I am striving to reflect a unique blend of styles in my creations. Currently, I live in Newcastle upon Tyne with my husband and lovely kiddos.
