"Dr. Safa Rubaye is a self-taught artist from Iraq. He has a passion in art while very young. He has always been keen on polishing his style and philosophy in this arena. An avid proponent of classicism and postmodernism in art. He studied medicine at the University of Baghdad, which provided him with extensive knowledge in human anatomy, a theme reflected in his pieces of art. His major themes revolve around the human experience and the exploration of human psyche. He has finished tens of pieces that can be categorized under the category of various disciplines such as surrealism, abstract and impressionism. As pertaining to the usage of media, he masters painting with oil on canvas, acrylic, pastel, graphite, and color pencils. He has interests in many walks in life such as philosophy, psychology, mythology and chess."
