Back Pack weighing me down. My feet slip further into the sand in this dry dusty land. The gun I carry no use from the hidden enemy, but I hold it close to my heart should the shooting restart. How can a distant sun seem so hot. The heat seems to gust through my body as if trying to rip out my soul, help me get out of this god forsaken hole. "KEEP MOVING", the Sergeant's shout, one bullet, I could take him out. Mouth so dry blisters form inside, from this heat you cannot hide. Why am I here?. Am I here to be a hero?. No I want to stay alive. I cannot remember Why they fight us, why not let us be, I am sure we are trying to help them be free. Why am I here?. I feel that I have failed those who are lost just to doubt the reasons, and at what cost. My fallen brothers and sisters, I will never forget you and you will stay with me forever. I am sorry you are gone. You dying, how you did, was wrong. Soon I hope to return to the land I love. To watch clouds form, from above. To feel the rain upon my skin, just that one simple thing. Be soft with me and be prepared for I have changed and am now a little timid and a little scared.
