About The Artwork
This painting of a sea otter is inspired by a recent (symbolic) adoption I made via the Sierra Club. Sea otters are listed as a threatened species by the US Endangered Species Act and endangered by the IUCN (International Union of Concerned Scientists) "Red List". Sea otters are special “keystone” species as they are crucial to near shore kelp ecosystems since they prey upon critters that devour the kelp forests which house many other species.
