About The Artwork

This is a new ethereal painting based on a NASA photo of the Lagoon Nebula. It can also be seen as simply a colorful abstract! It's acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, and basically a beautiful abstract in many colors: reds and yellows, deep magenta, purples and blues. I have been interested in astronomy and the mysteries of the universe all my life. I believe there is a lot out there we don't understand and I attempted to capture some of that mystery in this abstract painting. I am doing a series of paintings on astronomy and nebulas to capture some of that original wonder I had when I first saw our own galaxy. There is so much out there to understand. This painting has texture as well as an amazing blending smoothness of the colors. This painting is unframed.

I have painted since I was very young and always knew I wanted to be an artist. After college I moved to San Francisco, then back to Minnesota, and now I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been in many solo and group art shows along the way. Currently doing shows and art fairs in the Atlanta, GA area. I don't pursue brick and mortar galleries because I believe the future of art buying is online galleries and in person sales at art fairs. I do a few art fairs every summer to promote my art and find out what the public is feeling about art.
