This work is one of the finalist in the International Open Call competition of the 13th FLORENCE BIENNALE in 2021. In my self-portrait painting, I tried to address the controversy of pure femine stance by suppressing the emotions of the women by referring to that transformative journey with the zipper on the woman’s mouth by using organic textile. Furthermore, of the classical painting technique I implemented in my previous artworks, I created organic materials in my artworks in the sense of obtaining healthy and environment friendly sustainable artworks. Organic certified materials which are more commonly heard in the food sector, now will be helping to create paintings. I wanted to support human health and the environment with a different approach by using organic materials and products in artworks. Following my applications I obtained the intellectual and artworks right of this idea. My purpose is to create a financial grant and support means among future organic certified materials using the artist community to the foundation that I dream to establish in future. The foundation will be educational and will be supporting orphans and youths as well as aiming development of the organic certified paintings. The organic material technique, I am only using organic certified fabrics and yarns and excluding all types of chemical dyes in my artworks. P.S. Hanging hardware is included.

Ozlem Kalmaz borned in Izmir in 1980 and lives in Izmir/Turkey. Painting with Organic Certified Materials Technique, By Ozlem Kalmaz: Furthermore, of the classical painting technique I implemented in my previous artworks, I created organic materials in my artworks in the sense of obtaining healthy and environment friendly sustainable artworks. For instance in my painting named “The Transformation'' I used the natural tones of the recycled brewed tea and coffees. ADDRESSING THE CONTROVERSY OF WOMANHOOD In my “Transformation” artwork; the woman's face symbolises transformation with her face’s flu side and clear side. The sewing marks on the heart symbolises herself stitching her wounds and her journey from psychological abuse to peace. The settings of the woman in a bruised lemon and her breakthrough to the light was the another symbolism that I used to refer the journey of the psychological abused women. In my self-portrait painting, I tried to address the controversy of pure femine stance by suppressing the emotions of the women by referring to that transformative journey with the zipper on the woman’s mouth. Previously in 2015, I participated to Bodrun Bienal; with an instalation which protesting to rape, violence and abuse of women, A NEW APPROACH IN PAINTINGS My artworks can be classified within Dada current in perspective of colleges and in Symbolism current. However it can not be limited with only those two currents in the large perspective of modern arts. As an artist, I rather express myself within multiple currents rather than some particular currents.
