biography JACK MAST (Jacques Roland Leon Mast – 29/09/1961), was born in Paris, but lived in Nogent-Sur-Marne, city of residence to many artists and where he had his first contact with art. This was the starting point for his career.He worked in different professional fields, not always connected to art. At twenty, he left French Army e moved to Canada, searching for a meaning to his professional life.His paintings were in exhibitions in New York, Morocco, Tunisia, Spain and Belgium. In Venice he was invited by the owner of Gallery Setie (Rue de Faubourg Saint Honoré) to do an exhibition in Paris. In France, he also exhibited in Aix-en-Provence, Bretagne, Nice and Cote D'Azur, cities in southern France.His canvases were exhibited in many different places, gaining public attention and from the European media as well.In 2003, he was recognized by the French government with the "Metier D'Art" award.In 2006 he accomplished his dream of visiting South America. In Brazil, he fell in love with Sao Paulo and decided to move to the city permanently.In São Paulo, in 2007, he ​​made the illustrations for a children's book (The Imaginary Friend). In April 2008, his first exhibition in Brazil, "Colors of Feeling", took place at the Reserva Cultural, in São Paulo.He aims to impregnate his art with Brazilian nature, absorbing colors, feelings and meaning of life in the Country and communicate those experiences through his canvases.His work can be seen as plural, separated into 2 phases:Figurative and Abstract.
