About The Artwork
This painting was inspired on a walk through the city. I enjoy looking at shop fronts particularly at night when the windows become akin to a miniature theatre. The shoes on the plinth were not just eye catching, but presented using contrasting colour making them jump out. They were great to paint as they are quite architectural in structure, and different to my usual subject matter. They evoke the potential for a story line and that is what attracted me to paint them.
