‘SIREN’ Siren of the shallows, tantalisingly diffident, her deep beauty in a relaxed state. Calm; filtering the noise, drifting off to the gentle sounds. Original Artwork (Without frame) Width: 59.5 cm Height: 59.5 cm Original picture frame (Outside edge) Width: 73.5 cm Height: 73.5 cm Depth: 4.3 cm The idea for the original painting was inspired in 2008 after a visit to the dentists waiting room browsing through the pile of magazines. It consists of mixed media on plywood board with a handmade softwood frame. Starting with a base coat of household white primer, then applying various shades of white, cream, blue and silver paint for depth. After drying flat for several days, then adding the figurative work which is mainly gouache, acrylic, metal paint and marker. Finally Highlights of gloss yacht varnish for a vintage aged affect and two thick coats of clear satin resin glaze was applied to the surface of the painting and three coats of varnish to the frame. Over time due to atmospheric conditions and the wood drying, slight gaps in the joints of the frame and a yellowing to The gloss highlights has appeared. This all adds to the hand made charm and character of the work. ‘Ready to hang’ Please note: All measurements are approximate, Medium and materials used are for the original artwork only(not prints).

Clay in one hand and paintbrush in the other, it’s all about the love of creation, passion and diversity. I was born in Merseyside in the 70's, moving as a baby, with my family to Birmingham, England, where I was raised and still live today. From an early age I’ve had a natural ability to paint, draw, sculpt and upcycle. I am passionate about it and the whole creative process of making the viewer feel, igniting their imagination and creating something that is the best it can possibly be; beautiful detailed works of art.
