About The Artwork
Sometimes, I just hear a song and imagine how it looks like if it were a picture. This piece was inspired by Tori Amos' Sleeps With Butterflies, released in 2015. I was a college freshman doing all-nighters with coffee, cigarettes and the radio. Heaven. Each time I hear that song, this is what I imagine. 14 years later, after a shoulder injury that prevented me from tattooing, I finally had the free time to put the mental image in paper. This song's music video was also inspired by another Japanese artist, Aya Kato. I'll just let the lyrics and melody explain the rest.
