About The Artwork
The artwork is part of the About Home project. I started it at the beginning of 2020 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Poland and continued with the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant. The picture is a generation memory symbol. I was painting it in Warsaw in 2021 while starting exploring my own family memory. I was inspired by the daughter of my friend. The girl was born in Poland at the same time as she saved her Belarussian roots. So this artwork is my exploration into, our story behind us, which we were born with. I advisedly choose the big scale format for this picture in order to emphasize the generic information we are born with and the question about where the borders of our freedom are.

I was born in 1991 in Minsk in Belarus. I am one of those artists who cannot but create. My creative processes are intertwined with my personal life. I live and develop through my art. I have a lot of creative energy, which I express through painting, photography, objects and videos. I am inspired by human bodies, faces, nature, cinema, poetry. My creativity is structured in such a way that I become interested in the particular themes that I explore. I am interested in the themes of femininity and female initiations in this project of mine “ I call this colour yellow”, the theme of the state of consciousness “If you dance, do dance with trees in a rhythm” of body’s memory “About Home”, and now I am studying on vulnerability in the Yearning for Paradise cycle.
